Danielle McAtee O.D.
Danielle McAtee, O.D. joined our offices in 2008 and serves in our Yuma, Burlington, CO, Goodland, KS & St. Francis, KS locations. Danielle (Kreigh) McAtee was born and raised in St. Francis, Kansas. Even at an early age, Dr. McAtee knew that she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. She attended Fort Hays State University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology. She went on to complete her optometry degree at Indiana University’s School of Optometry.
Dr. McAtee is licensed in all areas of eye care, but her special interests include diseases of the eye and fitting people in contact lenses. In her free time, Dr. McAtee enjoys shopping, playing with her dogs and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Brock, have two sons, Tyce and Jace.
Melissa S., Optician
Yuma is home for Melissa, who joined the Vision Source team in September of 2020. Following graduation from Yuma High School, she received a Dental Assistant Certificate in 2014, and currently serves as our senior staff member as an Optician.
One of the things Melissa likes most about her role with Vision Source is seeing the reaction of small children when they first receive their glasses.
Melissa is the mother of four children of her own, and also has two dogs. She is creative and enjoys coloring. Melissa lives by the mantra, “Don’t over think it!”
Sydney B., Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduling
In September 2020, Sydney joined the Yuma Vision Source office as the Front Desk Receptionist. In addition to greeting our patients who visit the office, Sydney also manages the office schedule and works closely with her team mates to coordinate office duties. Her home is Yuma, and upon graduation from Lone Start School, Sydney attended Northeastern Junior College Cosmetology School.
Stepping through life, she finds that she uses the phrase, “It is what it is,” a lot!
Sydney enjoys the environment she and her co-workers create at the Vision Source office.
Brenda B., Optometric Assistant/Scribe
Brenda joined the Vision Source team at the beginning of 2021 as an optometric assistant and now also scribes for Dr. Mason. Originally from Tribune, Kansas, Brenda moved with her family to Yuma in 2002. Learning about our eyes is something Brenda loves about her work, and she mentioned that she learns something new every day. Brenda enjoys working with her fellow team members and the doctors, and the friendships they have made. Her favorite encounter was when an elderly patient asked to buy her dinner!
Spending quality time with her children is very special for Brenda. She has 3 children – two sons and one daughter, and she said they keep her busy and on her feet all of the time! When she can fit it in, she loves to shop!
The words Brenda lives by is, “If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it!”
